Many of the water systems that keep ecosystems thriving and feed a growing human population have become STRESSED . Rivers, lakes and aquifers are drying up or becoming too polluted to use. More than half the world’s wetlands have DISSAPEARD. Climate change is altering patterns of weather and water around the world, causing SHORTAGES AND DROUGHTS in some areas and floods in others (WWF).

At the current consumption rate, this situation will only get worse. It is predicted that by 2025 1.8 billion people will experience absolute WATER SCARCITY and 2/3 of the world will be living under water stressed conditions (Mintel Trend Agency 2016).

What can we do?

Big brands like Adidas and Nike are already making investments in innovative, waterless systems using supercritical CO2 in the dying process. Other, cosmetic brands are also looking into ways to reduce water usage by concentrating their formulas and coming up with new formats such as powders and sticks (Mintel 2016). One of the ways to save water is to reduce or completely eliminate it from the manufacturing process.

Water free cosmetics are quite challenging to formulate and also put a serious limit on the number of materials we can use in our formulas. As a result we have to work harder in order to provide functional products, designed to be as good as and even better then commercially available ones. We take a great proud of our formulas!
